Chapter 4 — After paragraph 11

Insert:11.1There are several submerged buoys located around the outer edges of Whitefish Bay, specifically near Pendills Bay, north of Tahquamenon Bay and near Whitefish Point. These buoys float about 5 feet [1.5 m] from the lake bottom and are tethered to hydroacoustic receivers and concrete blocks. A line of floating rope is also attached to the concrete block in order to facilitate the recovery of the buoy and receiver. Mariners are urged to use caution in the vicinity of these buoys shown on chart 14962.
